Day Book Entry - October 5th 2009

Outside my window... a raining, wet, overcast day.

I am thinking... that the sooner I get Nathan to the Doctor, the sooner I know what flu he has and can be pro-active about what I can do about me catching it.

I am thankful for... a husband who helps me around the house when I need it most.

I am wearing... my jammies - pink t-shirt and striped capris because I will be staying around the house today.

I am remembering... how much prep-work goes into having a newborn baby in the house.

I am going... to be taking my son to the Doctor at 11am.

I am reading... High Five by Janet Evanovich - a Stephanie Plum book.

I am hoping... that if I am getting sick, that I do not go into labour yet.

On my mind... getting Nathan feeling better, Ben feeling better and having a safe C-Section on the 16th of October when our little girl comes into the world.

From the learning rooms... getting Nathan working on getting Happy Faces every day at school for good behaviour

Noticing that... my kitchen floor needs sweeping and mopping, but I am in no shape to do it.

Pondering these words... from Nathan..."I will always be Mummy's baby boy."

From the kitchen... planning meals for when the baby girl arrives next Friday.

Around the house... a little bit of swiffering and vacuuming needed before Mum and Dad arrive on the 13th of October.

One of my favorite things~ hugs and kisses from my son and husband.

Friday Fill Ins - October 2, 2009

1. I have a history of being too rigid about things - kinda OCD if you will.....
2. Sewing is something I wish I knew how to do.
3. I'm eating (or recently ate) Hot Tamales Candy and I am sure the heartburn will follow, but man they were good!
4. Snacks, good music and conversation is needed when on the road.
5. So that's it, that's how you use a template in PSE 6.0? Wow!
6. Something is better than nothing!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to getting to bed early because I have a lot to do this weekend, tomorrow my plans include caring for a little man with a fever, attending a breastfeeding class at the hospital and hanging out with Nathan while Ben plays poker with the guys and Sunday, I want to hopefully say that the little man is feeling better, go to church and hang out with Ben and Nathan.

36 weeks and 5 days.....

Our little girl that I am carrying is still nameless. STILL! Can you tell I am frustrated? Can you tell that it is bugging me that I can not call her by name when I talk about her?
I went to the OB today and measured at 35 weeks. I guess she is running out of room. I am 172.5 pounds and my blood pressure is fine. Our baby girl's heartrate was at 150 today. The OB talked to me about when to head to the hospital - contractions 5 minutes apart or water breaking and then checked to make sure the baby girl is head down - YEP SHE IS.....no wonder there is so much pressure! Apparently if I go into labour now, they will NOT stop it and do the C-Section. Seeing as I have never been in labour and have no idea what a contraction feels like, it should be interesting if it does happen. It didn't with Nathan and I don't expect it to with this little girl!
It is only 16 days before the scheduled C-Section and I am ready to go. Well, ready as I will ever be, knowing that I will have to be cut open to get her out and go through major abdominal surgery.... I can't wait to "meet" her even though I feel her throughout my days. It will be nice to see her actual face and have her little fingers grab at mine. It has been 5 years since we have had a baby in the house and yes, we are a little worried about how that is going to be. We are also worried about how Nathan will handle this new little girl and being a big brother. We have already seen a bit of regression on his part. Hopefully, as soon as he sees her and sees that she completes our family, he will be right on board with us in welcoming her to our family. But, until then, we are adjusting and will continue to adjust.

Now, if only we could figure out a name........

My ScrapShare Sisters ROCK!!!

I had to come and brag about my ScrapShare Sisters....

Most of you that know me, know that back in August 2008, I had a garage sale and sold all of my baby stuff. We had been trying for going on 3 years with NO LUCK. So, I figured that since I wasn't working and needed money and we were not getting pregnant, I would have a huge yard sale and clean out everything baby related and get rid of the "clutter". So, I sold it all but the crib (stuck in the very back of the attic) and the pack and play (kept it because we have visitors from Canada all the time who have babies).
In February (the 14th), we found out we were expecting (it took 3 years and 3 months). The only things we had were Nathan's clothes that did not sell, the crib and pack and play.

So.......here is why I love my SS Sisters......

First of all, at the Skyline Retreat, the ladies threw a baby shower for Just Marcy and I on the Saturday of the retreat. It was a lot of fun, the cake was superb and Marcy and I got some really awesome stuff from all the girls!

Well, this past weekend (the 19th), SBinGA (Sharon) threw me a baby shower in my own home and "Baby Girl Michalski" and I were SPOILED!!!!

  • Marta (M911) drove down from Atlanta just to hang with me for the day,
  • Sharon (SBinGA) sent out invites and brought the food,
  • Cathryn (in Atlanta) sent a gift for the baby (hand-made bibs and scrapbooking items for a little girl's album) with Marta,
  • Susan (Gr82baGATOR) sent in the mail the cutest little creeper and it arrived on Friday (the day before the shower) and
  • Kuleen (Kermit) sent me a quilt that she made for the baby girl - and YES, it was wrapped in green tissue paper but the quilt was purple!
I am SPOILED and BLESSED beyond measure to have you all in my life!
